2006 Travel

Most travel while at the conference will be within walking distance. Other travel can be done on TRAX, Utah's light rail system. The Hotels, most of the events, the Salt Lake Night Life, 2 Malls and shopping are all within the Free Zone of TRAX.

Fares Outside of Free Zone

• UTA fares are $1.50 for everyone ages 6 to 64. Seniors (65+) and the disabled ride for a reduced fare of $0.75. Children 5 and under are free (limit 2 per paying adult).

• Single ride TRAX light-rail tickets, along with bus transfers, are valid for 2 hours from time of purchase.
• All-day passes are available for $4.00 from TRAX ticket vending machines, and are good for unlimited local bus and TRAX rides for the day of purchase.
• On outbound bus routes (away from downtown), pay as you exit. On inbound bus routes (toward downtown), East/West routes, and Nite Ride routes, pay as you board. This is due to the downtown Salt Lake City Free Fare Zone.
• On TRAX light-rail, tickets should be purchased before boarding the train. Ticket-vending machines are located at all TRAX stations.
• If you will be transferring to another bus or TRAX light-rail, ask for a transfer when you pay your fare.
• On bus routes, be ready to deposit your money (exact change only), or to show your pass or transfer to the operator for verification.
