Good Afternoon All:

It's that time of year that we request your Proposed Resolutions for
consideration at the National Conference.  I have attached the newly revised Resolutions SOP and the RESCOM Form 1 for you.  I've also attached the 2008 and 2007 Resolutions for your reference.  Please look over the items below that will help you in your submission process...

1.  We have updated the timeline to accommodate states that have later state conferences.

2.  ALL submissions MUST go through your AREA RESOLUTIONS CHAIR.  No resolutions should come directly to me.  If you do not know who your Area Resolutions Chair is, contact your Area Director. You may contact me via email or cell phone with any questions you have.

3.  Please review the attached Resolutions from 2008 and 2007.  Anything that is included in the 2008 package is still good for one more year.  Anything that is in the 2007 package will be considered for reaffirmation for an additional year at the Conference.  THERE IS NO NEED TO RESUBMIT ANY OF THESE RESOLUTIONS.

4.  All Resolutions MUST be in a Word Document format.  We have had them come in in the past as pdf's which requires retyping, and while it has not happened yet, a simple typo could change the entire meaning/intent of a Resolution.

5.  EACH proposed Resolution must have a completed RESCOM FORM 1 with it.  DO NOT submit one RESCOM Form 1 for your entire package...we need one for each Resolution as it is our tracking mechanism for what happens to each Resolution.

6.  Please remember that Resolutions coming in to EANGUS should have Regional and/or National impact.  Anything that is specific to an individual state may not fall within the purview of the federal legislative process and may best be handled at the state level.

7.  State that submit Resolutions should be prepared to have somebody knowledgeable about the Resolutions at the National Conference.   As those of you have attended our Resolutions Committee Meetings there know, we call a Resolution for discussion and start by having the state who sponsored the Resolution give a brief overview of the resolution and why it is needed.   It also ensures we have someone who can address any questions that may come up.

Thank you for all you do for your state associations and everything you do for EANGUS.  You may not hear it enough, but it is appreciated by many!
