
I wanted to take a moment to give Area VI a quick update on EANGUS'
Financials, Area VI Midwinter and Membership.
First off, as some of you may have heard during the OCT Membership
Meeting/Executive Board Meeting, members of the Finance Committee identified
some concerns with EANGUS' financials. The major concern was the vacancy of
a certified accountant handling our finances. We as an Executive Council
voted to budget enough money next year to hire an accountant. We also voted
to approve a budget that is significantly smaller than this years budget.
All this was recommended by the Finance Committee and was done to ensure we
stayed within budget and didn't exceed moneys coming in.
The 2009 Midwinter Caucus is coming up 23-25 JAN 2009 at the Riviera Hotel
and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. There will be an informal social on Friday
night with the meeting taking place starting at 8am on the 24TH and the 25TH
is a travel day. Please see the attached registration form and distribute to
your members.
I've also attached November's membership Worksheet, please take a moment to
look at it. I know there have been some discrepancies between what states
are showing and what national has. If you are having these issues please let
me know so we can try and reconcile this. There was discussion in the
Executive Council Meeting concerning making all memberships annual and
expiring 31 DEC for better tracking. The possibility of raising membership
dues was also discussed. No decisions were made on this and I'd like to get
everyone's thoughts on this at the Mid Winter.
I will have more information on the Mid Winter as it comes in. Thanks for
